With its lighter nights, pretty dresses, and the opportunity to spend glorious days out and about with friends, summer is my idea of perfection. However, I find that my makeup doesn't adore the season quite as much as I do. The moment the temperature rises, it begins to slide off. Primers, tinted moisturizers, and waterproof eye makeup all help prevent this, but your best bet for an all-day, picture-perfect face is a setting spray.
My standby spray is Model in a Bottle ($18), a couple spritzes of which render makeup transfer-resistant. Tyra Banks shares my love of the product, so you know it does the job well!
Skindinavia has the world's best-selling makeup setting spray ($29), and it is available in a number of different formulas to suit various skin-types. I favor No More Shine Makeup Finish for oily and combination skin, which gets bonus points for preventing excess shine throughout the day.
Urban Decay also hit the mark with its range of setting sprays. The All Nighter ($29) promises to hold makeup for 16 hours, while De-Slick Oil-Control ($29) uses light-dispersing particles to deflect surface-shine.
For something a bit lighter, try Make Up Forever's Mist & Fix ($28). It provides the same great makeup-setting benefits in a near weightless formula.
With any of these setting sprays, your perfect pout, winged eyeliner and coral blush will survive the hottest and stickiest summer days.
