I'm a serial lipstick dater. So many lip products slide onto my desk. Some I double-tap and have all the heart eyes for. Others I ghost and leave on seen. This is #BigLipstickEnergy, an honest breakdown of how I feel about the latest lip launches. Read on for the three lipstick flings I'm keeping in rotation for now. Next week, I'll have a new roster.

This Universal Shade
Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in Third Date

Huda Beauty sephora.com
$25.00

THE DETAILS:

Remember when every matte lipstick known to man felt dry as hell no matter how much you moisturized beforehand? Thanks to this "plush matte" formula your lips can kiss that problem buh-bye. This hydrating texture will make your lips feel so fluffy, snuggling them with a bold veil of color. Plus, you'll never have to worry about the color wearing off because it has an one-and-done application process.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

I usually wear rosey shades in the fall, but this particular hue has warm undertones, which has made it my perfect summertime fling. I love the way it complements my orange and red undertones. I was in the bathroom a few days ago, and my friend who has a complete opposite skin tone than me, tapped this shade on for a touch-up, and it looked absolutely amazing against her light olive complexion, too. A universal berry-colored lip should be in everyone's bag.

The Perfect Peach
Hot Lips Lipstick 2.0 in Carina's Star

Charlotte Tilbury sephora.com
$37.00

THE DETAILS:

Charlotte Tilbury products don't need much of an introduction. When a matte lipstick is made by a beauty fairy godmother like Charlotte, rest assured you're getting the best of the best, boo. This one has a soft and creamy consistency, but dries down to a cozy matte on your lips. The antioxidants and tree and orchid extracts floating around in this formula keep chapped lips at bay.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

Coral lip colors usually lean brighter, which is cool if that's what you're looking for, but subdued coral shades are hard to come by. This modern take on a traditional coral has more of a soft peach feel with brown undertones, and I'm in love. I don't want to call it a neutral, because it's not, but it doesn't overpower your makeup or dominate your face, making this the perfect peach to wear for a photo opp.

This Fiery Red
MatteTrance Lipstick in Obsessed

Pat McGrath Labs sephora.com
$40.00

THE DETAILS:

Of course Pat McGrath, a.k.a. the 'Mother of Makeup" created one of the most iconic matte lipsticks ever. Big Lipstick Energy isn't all about new launches—I love to pay homage to historical lip products that have paved the way for the rest, and will never get old. I've never met a matte lipstick more decadent in my entire life. Made with polymers to ensure this texture deposits the sleekest film of color onto your lips, this opaque shade's staying power will blow you away.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

Red lipstick is my beauty vice (I own more than 200 red lipsticks, and yes, they're all different). This orangey-red is essentially what "fire" would look like dressed up in a fancy lipstick bullet. Instead of wearing a basic red for your July 4th festivities, cop this vibrant color to change things up a bit. (And stand out underneath those fireworks.)
