I'm a serial lipstick dater. So many lip products slide onto my desk. Some I double-tap and have all the heart eyes for. Others I ghost and leave on seen. This is #BigLipstickEnergy, an honest breakdown of how I feel about the latest lip launches. Read on for the three lipstick flings I'm keeping in rotation for now. Next week, I'll have a new roster.

For Rockstar Energy
Rouge Volupte Rock'N Shine Lipstick in Cacao Bound
Yves Saint Laurent yslbeautyus.com

According to the brand, this lipstick is meant to bring "pure rockstar energy to your look." What a mood. Considering the stellar packaging, which features a silver emblem in the center of the bullet made of good-for-you plant extracts, this is highly possible. The new shades of this moisturizing, medium-coverage lipstick range from wearable neutrals to vivid primary colors, and offer a whole lot of color coupled with a subtle, pearlescent shine.

Glitter lips aren't my thing. They remind me of my middle school self and I've evolved way too much since then so that's that. This lipstick, however, doesn't produce a glitter lips effect. Instead, it leaves behind a low-key sparkle with a multidimensional finish that looks très chic. This shade, specifically is like if cacao powder and berries were melded together. It feels like a miracle because I actually don't own a color that's similar to this one.

For Gaga Energy
Le Monster Lip Crayon in Dust
Haus Laboratories by Lady Gaga amazon.com

I know, I know—Lady Gaga is far from "chill," but this color is. "We created [this] for the lipstick lover who can’t get enough," Lady Gaga has said. "It’s easy to apply and stays on, just like my monster makeup stays on during concerts. It’s reliable, irresistible, and sexy." This line, featuring 12 inclusive shades, has an ultra creamy, full-coverage feel that's meant to make your life easier so you can forget about lipstick doing you wrong ever again.

When it comes to the application, it can't get much easier than a lip pencil, which literally brings things back to the basics. This formula is full of crushed pigments for a one-and-done application. At first it feels velvety, then in a few seconds it fully absorbs and feels set. Not in a drying way though, in a stay-all-day way. This nude, pinky hue works so well with my deep complexion, making it a no-brainer I can rely on during an incredibly busy week.

For Salt 'N Pepa Energy
Salt N' Pepa Lip Kit in Push It
Milani ulta.com

Rule: You have to turn on Salt N' Pepa's "Push It" before reading this. Cool, now that the vibe is set, you can really get into this lip kit. Milani payed homage to this '80s girl group in the best way with two lip kit colors inspired by their album cover. SO DOPE. For only $12 you get a lip liner and a bold lipstick that holds up for hours. It's a soft matte finish with moisture-inducing ingredients.

When I was a little girl, my mom would blast Salt N' Pepa's music, so this brings back so many fun memories of dancing around the house with my family. It's cool to see a mass beauty brand show respect to the original female MCs in hip-hop. This popping, highly-pigmented red is so fierce. There's also a "Shoop" shade, which is more of a tawny brown, if a toned-down shade is your style.
