The Corset Braid Trend Is Basically Waist-Training for Your Hair

The Kardashian-Jenners are going to be all over this.

As we reported last week, fabric-woven braids (opens in new tab) = totally a thing. And now the trend is going to a new extreme with the corset braid. Spotted not at Paris Fashion Week, but at Vancouver Fashion Week during the Lesley Hampton show, the look consists of lacing up dual plaits with ribbon as you would the waist-cinching garment.

Equal parts Renaissance era and 2016-friendly because as Rihanna's Marie-Antoinette-inspired Fenty x Puma collection (opens in new tab) confirmed yesterday, stars have reached peak corset obsession. Instagram is already all over it, naturally.

But let's face it, whether or not this look is going to blow up hangs on a Kardashian-Jenner endorsement. But considering that waist training and French braids are amongst their favorite things, we predict it's only a matter of time.
