- Demi Lovatojust shared the "best part" about being single after breaking off her engagement to Max Ehrich.
- Demi revealed what she's loving about being single.
It might be cuffing season, but Demi Lovato is happy to be single. Demi called off her engagement to ex Max Ehrich (opens in new tab) after he popped the question five months after they began dating. Since their breakup, they've both been slamming each other rather publicly. Max has been spilling all their personal info on Instagram, crying at the site of their proposal in front of paparazzi (opens in new tab), and even released a breakup song (opens in new tab). Now, Demi is sharing why she's happy to be uncoupled.
"The best part about being single is knowing that my happiness is coming from no other person than myself," she wrote in an Instagram Story. She also added a small pink heart emoji, just to let you know that she is *really* loving this season of her life. And we love to see it!

While hosting the People's Choice Awards (opens in new tab), Demi mentioned her breakup from Max. She joked during the opening monologue (opens in new tab), “This year has been the longest three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammys (opens in new tab) and sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl (opens in new tab). But then COVID-19 hit and everything shut down, so I did what everyone else did. I went into lockdown mode. And got engaged.”
She added, “I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and went looking for aliens in the desert (opens in new tab), so basically the same as everyone else.”
LOL. At least her sense of humor is intact after her rollercoaster of a year (opens in new tab). But, really 2020 has been a hot mess for all of us, so it's all good, Demi. It's all good.
