Paulina Porizkova, 55, Says "Sexy Has No Expiration Date" in Nude Instagram Photo

“Why is sexiness and nudity applauded in a woman’s youth and reviled in her maturity?”

  • Paulina Porizkova, 55, shared a new nude photo to Instagram, shining a positive light on aging in the caption.

Paulina Porizkova will do whatever she likes with her body, thank you very much. On Feb 2., the 55-year-old model shared a nude photo to Instagram in defense of Elizabeth Hurley, who recently responded to criticism over her topless bikini photo from last week.

“When I was in my twenties and thirties, the less I wore—the more popular I was. In my forties, I could walk around practically naked and illicit nothing more than a ticket for public indecency,” Porizkova wrote in her Instagram caption. “At fifty, I am reviled for it. ‘Put on your clothes, grandma. Hungry for attention, are you? A little desperate here? You’re pathetic.’”

“Why is sexiness and nudity applauded in a woman’s youth and reviled in her maturity? Because of men,” Porizkova wrote alongside the hashtag “sexy has no expiration date.”

“You are one of the most beautiful women to ever inhabit this planet,” Elizabeth Hurley replied to the post. “You remain as ravishing as ever 😘😘😘.”

Other fans flooded the comments section with support, too. “Thank you for bringing an important topic to light,” one person commented. “Simply stunning. For any age,” another wrote. “No one should ever be told to cover up,” to which the Porizkova replied, “agreed!”

This isn’t the first time she’s gotten real about aging. Last January, Porizkova posted a makeup-free photo to Instagram, and opened up about showing her true self on social media. “This is what I really look like. Not a great photo, early in the morning, no make-up, no filters, just the real true me,” she wrote ahead of her 55th birthday.

“At first glance, I think - ew. I look so old. Grief is certainly no beauty maker. My eyelids are starting to droop,” she continued. “The jowly bits next to my mouth don’t only make me look older but also somehow bitter. The gray in my hair is an easy fix, although, honestly, I’d love to just grow it out and stop coloring.”

But she was also able to reframe these “flaws” into something beautiful. “I used to think gray hair was aging, that it was a sign of giving in to being old, but thanks to many glorious and rocking hot women on Instagram, I’ve changed my vision to gray hair being sexy and confident,” she wrote.

“There was a quote by Pink to her little daughter, about how it was not for them to fix themselves to fit the standards of beauty, but rather to help other people discover their beauty,” she continued. “Now, that is something to strive for. Not change yourself to fit in the box, but to blow up the f*cking box.”
