What makes a business a success? If jewelry designer and entrepreneur Kendra Scott had to say, it's passion. And we're likely to believe her—by January, she'll have 39 standalone stores operating and selling her designs, alongside her online business. But what drives Scott doesn't seem to be dollar signs—it's a love for her customers and a need to give back.

In fact, Scott is giving back in a *big* way—by donating all proceeds from the Fashion Gives Back jewelry set (opens in new tab) (an exclusive duo of iridescent drusy and rose gold collar necklace with earrings) to a charity that matters to you. Because that is exactly what those who love Kendra Scott want.

"She has a pulse on what's happening in fashion, but she has a heart that beats for her community," Scott says of her clientele. And the same, it seems, can be said about her. Marie Claire editor Callie O'Neill sat down with the Austin, Texas native (and celeb favorite) to chat about what makes her brand so different, why she started her business, and just what keeps her going. (Hint—she's a big proponent of family time.) Watch below:
