Fashion First: L'Wren Scott to Collaborate with Banana Republic

Beloved in couture circles for exquisite and expensively designed pieces, L'Wren Scott is going sporty this holiday season in its first-ever retail collaboration. The fashion house of choice? Banana Republic.

Scott, an adopted Mormon from Utah, was not always in the world of high-priced design and was herself a Banana Republic shopper. This collaboration did present a challenge: a L'Wren design at a BR price-point. "The collection has a clear point of view. L'Wren knows what she wants and doesn't want. It was interesting for us to take that and make it much more affordable," said Banana Republic Creative Director, Simon Kneen.

The L'Wren Scott for Banana Republic collaboration will be a 50-piece collection hitting select stores worldwide on Dec. 5. Perfect timing to find that standout (yet affordable!) holiday gift, with a L'Wren Scott label to boot. Here's what to expect, according to Scott: "The blouses are gorgeous. I did some really great L jeans, my signature jean, in fun colors and a nice brocade," as well as, "little perfectly fitted and beautifully made jackets" and "a little clutch bag with a jeweled rock 'n' roll gunmetal chain that comes off and can be worn as a necklace." And the best part is that price range of $39.50 to $165, with the accessories ranging from $39.50 to $198.
