Curling up with a cup of hot cocoa is the highlight of spending a chilly night indoors. It's warm, delicious, and will soothe your soul. What could possibly make such a wonderful thing even better? Red wine, of course.
Blogger Yeah..ImmaEatThat recently posted a recipe for Red Wine Hot Chocolate, and we were a little skeptical at first. But, then we thought, red wine and chocolate already pair so well together, so really, putting wine in chocolate just makes sense.
To treat yourself to a cup of this cozy beverage, mix 1½ cups milk and ⅓ cup dark chocolate chips in a sauce pan over medium heat. Stir until it becomes the creamy, hot chocolate goodness you know and love. Now comes the best part—add 1 cup of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon is a good pick), and stir until fully mixed. At last, this rich, chocolatey, spiked cup of perfection is ready for you to enjoy.
Many hot cocoa fans have already made their own versions of the boozy creation, and the results are nothing short of amazing. From the looks of it, spiked hot cocoa can truly do no wrong. So long, winter blues!
