Selena Gomez shows should 100 percent be a safe space for young women, so finding out that a fan was reportedly assaulted at her Melbourne concert on August 6 is upsetting to say the least.

Australia's 9News reports that a teenage girl was approached and then sexually assaulted by a man during Selena's concert at Margaret Court Arena. Authorities provided a photo of the suspect, and The Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team are trying to ascertain whether or not he approached other audience members.

While men and women of all ages love Selena (::waves hand earnestly::), her biggest fan-base is young girls—who should absolutely be able to view her (and every artist's) performances without stressing about being harmed. And while it's important to exercise caution everywhere, the fact that this happened to a fan trying to enjoy the music of her idol is just so wrong.

Selena has yet to comment on the alleged incident, but it's clear how much she loves her fans.
