In a palette of deep purples and pinks with a mix of earthy grays and exotic pattern blocks, Nanette Lepore created a classic feminine collection with a bold pizzaz. "I was inspired by different weavings, rug prints, embroideries, and beading from all over the world," said Lepore backstage on her collection, "We brought it back here to New York City to have it handcrafted here." In a mix of pleated chiffon, duffle coats, and alpaca sweaters Lepore played with proportions, mixing in feminine and utilitarian focal points. Menswear-inspired jackets were paired with woven pattern-blocked dresses, adding structure to movement, creating a haute-bohemian look. "She's [our buyer] going to want to look and feel like an artist," said Lepore, "She's going to have an eclectic look."
