Australian designer duo Zimmerman has been making international waves for quite some time, but now that Kate Middleton has donned one of their dresses, we can expect a full-on tidal wave from the young brand.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Easter Show at Olympic Park, as well as a New South Wales Surf Life Saving Nippers' Club event at Manly Beach earlier today in Sydney as part of theirDown Under tour. Middleton wore the white eyelet "Roamer" dress with a pair of Stuart Weitzman Minx cork wedge heels and a wicker clutch. It's the first time the duchess has worn an Australian designer since arriving on this tour and the Zimmerman website is already experiencing the aftermath of the "Kate Effect." This, despite the fact that the Summer Swim 2014 design, which retails for $495, won't be available until June.

In addition to make sartorial history, Middleton also showed off her playful side during the Royal Easter Show's alpaca shearing demonstration. According to Lyn Crejan, a farmer from New South Wales, she showed them a tuft of alpaca wool and the duchess likened it to her husband's hair (or rather, lack thereof). "The Prince was interested in the alpaca and as I showed it to them the Princess said he should put it on his head," Crejan told reporters. "She said, 'You need it more than me,' and pointed to his head and he laughed." We find Middleton's retaliation to Prince William's banana comment totally endearing.
