- The Palace just confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been in Canada during their break from royal duties.
- A statement says that they've been "spending private family time" in the country.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently in the middle of their six-week hiatus from royal duties and appearances. They're skipping the Queen's family Christmas gathering in Sandringham, and reportedly spent Thanksgiving with "close family," which many took to mean Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland.
And even though Megs and Harry are staying out of the spotlight for a while, the Palace did just release an update about the couple's time off, confirming that they took baby Archie to Canada. The statement, which was released on Friday, says, "As has been reported, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private family time in Canada."
The Palace also uses Meghan and Harry's decision to head to Canada as a weird PR play for the U.K.'s relationship with the country, adding:
The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both.
Whilst this email confirms the country they are taking their family time in, for security reasons we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected.
The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family.
They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son.
The Palace sadly didn't comment on whether or not Meg took Harry and Archie to visit the set of Suits (which films in Toronto) but I'm choosing to believe that she did!
