Meghan Markle’s Banana Bread Recipe Includes Two Secret Ingredients
Wonder if she’s making lockdown banana bread for Prince Harry and baby Archie?

If you scroll through Instagram right now you’ll see three things: screenshots of people’s Zoom quizzes, maps of 5k runs around the park, and photos of banana bread (opens in new tab). Thousands and thousands of photos of banana breads.
And we think that’s great – baking banana bread (opens in new tab) is not only a great way of keeping yourself busy in these troubling times, but it’s also useful for using up any old bananas (opens in new tab) you’ve got hanging around that you might usually have simply thrown away.
As well as all your mates making banana bread (opens in new tab) right now, we bet Meghan Markle’s been at it too. The reason we say this, is that we know for a fact she loves making banana bread (opens in new tab) at home. But did you know she always adds two secret ingredients to hers?
I mean, they’re not that secret as we’re about to tell you about them, but, ya know…
During a visit to a family-run farm in Dubbo, Australia, in 2018, it was reported that Meghan brought a homemade banana bread (opens in new tab) to the family as a gift. And as well as having bananas in it (obvs), it also featured… wait for it…
Chocolate chips and ginger!
Now, chocolate chips aren’t that crazy an idea when it comes to banana bread (opens in new tab), but we are certainly interested in the idea of popping ginger in there. And, the combination of chocolate, ginger and bananas sounds like a winner to us.

At the time, Benita Woodley, whose farm Meghan and Harry visited, said of Meghan: “She said if you go to someone’s house you always bring something, so she did.”
“She said she was worried about the bananas, that she’d put too many bananas in it. But the Duke said there’s never too many bananas.”
Rebecca English, the Daily Mail's royal correspondent, tweeted about it at the time, and said that she herself has tried Meghan’s banana bread (opens in new tab) and it’s “rather nice.”

How much banana bread (opens in new tab) do you think Prince Harry and baby Archie have been force-fed since lockdown began?
