The Most Brutal Reactions to 'SNL's David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special
Any questions?
When Tom Hanks first appeared on Saturday Night Live as David S. Pumpkins, way back in October 2016, the character seemed to resonate with people worldwide. His additional appearances on SNL throughout last season were also beloved (probably).
So last night, in honor of Halloween 2017, SNL brought Pumpkins back in his very own Halloween special. And opinions were... mixed. While a fair few purveyors of Pumpkins enjoyed the special episode dedicated to SNL's very own "Halloween Santa", there was a LOT of criticism. Here are the most brutal social media reviews so far:
1. Am I the only one?
Apparently I’m the only person who doesn’t find David S. Pumpkins funny.October 29, 2017
2. When you just don't get it...
Why is David S Pumpkins so enduring (I love Tom Hanks I just don’t get it)October 29, 2017
3. Would a David S. Pumpkins movie be so awful?
Thank god David S. Pumpkins didn't happen in the early 90s. He would've gotten a whole unfunny movie instead of just an unfunny 30 minutesOctober 29, 2017
4. Can you ever have too much? Apparently.
So I have learned... There is such a thing as too much David S Pumpkins.October 29, 2017
5. Needs more Hanks.
I just knew the David S Pumpkins animated special wasnt gonna work. People want to see Hanks as Pumpkins, not some dumb unfunny cartoon.#SNLOctober 29, 2017
6. Hopes were dashed.
I had higher hopes for the David S. Pumpkins Halloween special... Boo.October 29, 2017
But, whatever. You can't please everyone. In my humble opinion, Tom Hanks is timeless.
