When Gilmore Girls returned for the Netflix four-part special, A Year in the Life, it ended on a major cliffhanger: I'll say no more than "those four final words." It would be cruel for the show to leave fans forever wondering what might happen next, so join us in a collective sigh of relief: More episodes might be coming.
Nothing's set in stone just yet, but Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, confirmed they're in talks with the show's creators about making another series.
According to the Press Association, he said, "We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped."
About that: A little more Jess in the four special episodes would have been nice, and a little less Zack. Sorry, but we're still upset Lane didn't end up with Dave.
Anyway, Sarandos continued: "The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favorite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that."
It's not much, especially as Sarandos told PA that the talks are "very preliminary." But it's the most promising sign we've had that Lorelai and Rory will be back sipping coffee on our screens. And wouldn't that be great?
