Add another designer credit to Rihanna's already-packed fashion CV: the pop star just revealed that she's done a shoe collaboration with high heel master Manolo Blahnik.
The collection, aptly titled "Denim Desserts", features six limited edition styles in various washes of denim. Embellished with sequins and intricate beading, the shoes are inspired by Rihanna's hand tattoos. The standout shoe is hands down the crotch-high "9 to 5" boot which Rihanna is wearing on her latest magazine cover. The boots ring in at a whopping $3995.
"Those boots are dangerous!" Rihanna said of them. "If you're trying to get back home to your bed, don't wear them boots! You will get kidnapped in those boots, those boots are trouble."
Other styles include an embellished lace-up bootie, a strappy stiletto sandal, and a closed-toe sandal covered in blue sequins.
Blahnik said that he is "absolutely thrilled with the results" of the collaboration, adding that "working with Rihanna has been amazing and her drive, passion, creativity and style has been reflected in the designs, with fabulous results." Rihanna is so psyched about the collection that she's pledged to chase anyone down if she sees them wearing it. And that may be reason enough to buy a pair.
"The day I see a woman in the street wearing my shoes... I am sorry for that woman because I'm going to literally run after her, shouting, 'Stop! Selfie! Who are you? Where did you get them?'" she said. "I'm going to have a moment!"
Be generous. Give Rihanna her moment.
The Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik collection goes on sale in Manolo Blahnik stores in London, New York, and Hong Kong starting May 5th 2016. Prices range from $895 to $3995.
