Kate Spade celebrated its 20th anniversary bash not in the Upper East Side, but in the Far East in Tokyo, according to Women's Wear Daily. With a Kate Spade Saturday store in Tokyo, the American brand's classic feminine style has been a hit in Japan — its color-popping dresses are go-to date night attire for Japanese women. According to chief creative officer and President of Kate Spade, Deborah Lloyd, Japanese culture will also influence future designs, "In a year's time, there's going to be probably a collection that will be inspired by this visit." Kate Spade plans to open up the first Japanese flagship store in Tokyo's Ginza neighborhood and plans to expand to more cities in Asia such as Singapore.
