It was on a 2001 sourcing trip to Morocco for her skincare line that Josie Maran first fell in love with the spirit — and supple skin — of a tribe of Berber women known for producing argan oil. (A Moroccan beauty staple, the oil is loaded with vitamin E and essential fatty acids.) Maran asked the women to supply her with the precious ingredient, and a happy partnership ensued.
