Is This Why Taylor Swift Skipped Her Celeb-Packed 4th of July Bash This Year?

Ugh, we had our "I

Cast your mind back to this day last year.

No doubt you woke up, grabbed a coffee, and checked Instagram to see how the Hollywood elite had celebrated the 4th of July, and almost dropped your phone in horror at the sight of Taylor Swift, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Blake Lively, and Ruby Rose enjoying what has to be (opens in new tab) one of the most red, white, and blue, slip-and-slide-filled, patriotic American Independence Day parties of all time.

It's hard to believe it was this time last year that the 27-year-old Shake It Off singer invited her troop of A-list friends to her home in Rhode Island to celebrate the big day with striped swimsuits, inflatable slides, and "T.S" temporary tattoos for her then-boyfriend, actor Tom Hiddleston.

Then came images of her British beau wearing an "I <3 T.S" tank top, and as they say, the rest is history (or, as others say, a high-profile romance, break-up, and endless gossip about the pair's romance).

To say we've been counting down the days to seeing Swift host yet another shindig at her beach-side abode is an understatement. But what have we found? Absolutely nothing.

Despite the fact a giant inflatable slide—similar to last year's—was spotted near her pool recently (opens in new tab), it appeared none of Swift's squad was near the performer's home on 4th July. Of course, the majority of them are in Paris for Haute Couture Fashion Week, walking or attending or both.

The 22 singer's lack of party-throwing comes months after she announced her pre-Super Bowl concert will be her only show of 2017, and amid radio silence on Instagram in recent weeks, other than the occasional post regarding her friends Haim and Lorde's latest music releases.

The singer's reluctance to celebrate the occasion might have something to do with her blossoming relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn (opens in new tab), with whom she's thought to have sparked a romance back in October.

Maybe next year?
