On a recent video call with leaders in the Queen's Commonwealth Trust network, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed their love for self-help guru Brené Brown, a writer and professor known for her bestselling self-help books.

Brown's work was actually brought up by another person on the call: Hunter Johnson, the founder of the Man Cave in Australia, a mental health charity that promotes positive masculinity. He quoted her words, saying, "Vulnerability brings connection and connection is why we are here. It brings meaning and it brings purpose to our lives." Johnson then cited the Center for Humane Technology's Tristan Hunter—apparently another Sussex-approved thought leader.

"I love the fact you're quoting Brené Brown and also bringing up Tristan Harris because they are two people we absolutely adore as well," Prince Harry said.

"We love them!" Meghan seconded.

The royal couple is in good company. Brown's other famous fans include Oprah Winfrey, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Aniston. The author's studies, according to her website, center on "courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy."

Harry also spoke about vulnerability on the call, saying, "If we are all able to show our vulnerability that doesn’t mean that you’re weak. If anything, I believe, that’s probably showing most of your strength."

The Duke has long been an advocate for mental health, joining forces with Prince William and Kate Middleton a few years ago to launch the charity Heads Together, which, among other goals, aims to lessen the stigma surrounding metal health problems.
