Chloë Grace Moretz Declined an Offer to Join Taylor Swift's Squad

But hold up, that doesn't mean there's a feud brewing.

Taylor Swift recently had a blank space in her squad, and was ready to write Chloë Grace Moretz's name. However, the Little Mermaid star turned down the invitation due to having pretty iffy feelings on the whole "squad phenomenon" in general.

"They appropriate exclusivity," she told Complex Magazine (opens in new tab). "They're cliques."

When it comes to Swift's girl group in particular, Moretz confirmed (with what Complex described as a careful "yes") that she was issued an invite, but refused to go into detail about the pop star—simply saying that she "can't" talk about these things and that Swift's "a very talented person."

Now, there's pretty much no way the media isn't going to turn this into a Chloë vs. Taylor feud, but rather than pit two successful women against each other, let's assume that Chloë means what she says about Taylor, and that her decision was simply based on personal squad feelings.

Chances are, these talented women get along just fine, whether or not they run in the same circle of supermodel friends.
