"There was a horrible article."

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice gave a very rare interview to Vogue UK for its September issue, in which they touched on just how deeply the backlash to the hats they wore at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding—particularly Beatrice's by Philip Treacy—affected them.

Both cried during a garden party in Buckingham Palace. “There was a horrible article that had been written about Beatrice, and she got really upset," Eugenie said, via Express. “We were just about to step out, and she had a bit of a wobble and cried. I was looking after her. And then about an hour later, I had a wobble and started crying and Bea was there for me.”

Additionally, Eugenie said she's "not stressed" about her October wedding, and Beatrice admitted that despite their closeness, they do fight sometimes. “One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse trainers,” Beatrice joked. “We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”
