Thanks to eco-star Livia's Firth's ongoing quest to turn all red carpets green, many of the celebs at this year's Academy Awards (including Best Actress winner, Meryl Streep) donned environmentally-friendly outfits! Top-notch design houses such as Valentino and Lanvin helped create the sustainable outfits, proving that eco-fashion is becoming mainstream.
The lady of the evening, Meryl Streep, wore a custom made, eco-gown from Lanvin. The gold, floorlength number was made from eco-certified fabric, and eventually paired with a well-deserved Oscar for Ms. Streep!
The Artist actress, Missi Pyle, wore a cruelty-free, mineral-dyed silk gown by Valentino Delfino. The aqua-blue dress featured repurposed zippers and a lining derived from recycled polyester. Pyle even opted for a vegan heels by Stella McCartney.
As for Mrs. Colin Firth, she wore a gown specially created for her by the designers behind Valentino. The handmade dress consists of recycled PET fabric and Valentino's house silk. Livia's husband, Colin, donned the same tux he wore last year, showing that recycling outfits is also an ethical fashion option!
