It's finally happening: Dakota Johnson has returned to New York City just in time for fashion week. On February 11, the first day of Fashion Month, paparazzi spotted the front-row regular in a less-than-incognito street style look, starring a vintage leopard-print Prada bag. Fingers crossed she (and her Prada plus-one) pop up on the sidelines of a fashion show in the coming days.
Wednesday afternoon marked the L.A. local's first foray onto the NYC street style scene in 2026. Looking every bit an honorary New Yorker, Johnson tried to maintain a low-profile in an Officine Générale pea coat. Buttery-soft suede covered the entire double-breasted select, even its fringed sleeves. She stacked it on top of a cashmere crewneck from Gigi Hadid's knitwear label, Guest In Residence. Its chili red color gave away Johnson's identity immediately. (It's one of her signature off-duty shades.)
Black ‘90s Pinch Waist High-Rise Jeans from Rihanna-approved brand AGOLDE resumed the moody color palette. Ankle-grazing hems covered the lace-up shafts on Johnson's patent leather, $1,160 LEGRES boots. Even her oval-shaped Prada sunglasses and New York Mets baseball cap got the noir memo.
Dakota Johnson tried to sneak onto the New York Fashion Week style scene in straight-leg jeans.
The Materialists actor rarely returns to Tribeca without at least one leopard-print piece in tow. Last December, a $11,000 fur-trimmed coat from Valentino made the cut. This time around, the trending animal pattern stretched onto her vintage Prada top-handle tote. Contrary to her coat's wool exterior, the leopard print boasted good-as-new pony hair, which resumed on the straps.
It's unclear when or where Johnson scored the style, but perhaps it hailed from the same collection as Jennifer Lawrence's leopard-print Prada purse. Both styles—though different in silhouette—are quite literally cut from the same black and brown, pony-hair cloth.
No Johnson look is complete without at least five-figures' worth of jewelry. The actor's gold, Yvonne Léon hoop earrings, for one, hit €2,500 once nine carats of diamonds frosted each center. Laoli's Rouge Necklace—made of thick, red agate beads—added $1,450 to the total.
Jessica McCormack's signature $18,000 button-back ring stood out alongside other bands from Vendura Jewelry and Annika Inez Jewelry. Believe it or not, Johnson's stacks get even more lavish than this. (Go on, revisit her Jessica McCormack sparklers at the Valentino Spring 2026 Couture show last month.)

If the rumors are true, and Johnson is in NYC for fashion week, she'll be ending a 10-year hiatus from the front row. Sure, she's attended recent New York Fashion Week events, including a 2025 Bulgari party and the 2024 Kering Caring For Women Dinner. But she's RSVP'd "no" to official NYFW shows since 2015.
Fashion girls know Johnson prioritizes Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks above all. Even if she skips the front row again, keep your eyes peeled for a Johnson sighting at Valentino's Fall 2026 show in Rome. She's Alessandro Michele's most loyal brand ambassador, after all.
