I couldn't be happier now that the new season has arrived—it means I can finally pull out my favorite spring jackets! There is something about a lightweight jacket that sparks joy. They have a knack for elevating every outfit, no matter what I'm wearing. That's why I'm making room in my wardrobe for the Spring 2026 jacket trends I found hiding in Nordstrom's End of Season Sale.
Fresh off the heels of the Spring Savings Event, Nordstrom is giving you an even bigger opportunity to save on buzzy new spring finds. With discounts of up to 50 percent off, the newly-minted discounts run from now through April 15. Some of the very best new markdowns are also the most in-demand. Think: cropped jackets, sporty styles, funnel-neck picks, elevated barn jackets, and more. With its selection of It girl-worthy outerwear, it's a sale, I, for one, won't be skipping.
Ahead, I'm diving into all of the need-to-know jacket trends of the season and how to shop them on a budget during Nordstrom's sale. You'll want to grab these under-$200 finds quickly—I have a hunch they will be sold out well before the sale officially ends.

In case you haven't noticed, the hemlines on your favorite jackets have been getting shorter over the last few months—and I'm here for it. Whether it's a leather bomber jacket or a collarless style, a cropped hem instantly makes you look cooler. Experiment with a fresh silhouette and see what a difference a cropped hem can make.
Trench Coats
Trench coats are nothing new, of course, but that doesn't mean they're not a spring staple in 2026. The classic silhouette offers a versatile look and lightweight feel, so it's no wonder that they come back year after year. For a fresher take, take a cue from Hailey Bieber and Lila Moss, who have both sported cropped trenches recently. But a longer length, à la Kendall Jenner's coat, never fails to look chic, either.
Sport-Inspired Styles
2026 is shaping up to be the year of sporty dressing. What started as a fascination with Adidas track pants has now evolved into a full-blown athleisure aesthetic that can be worn well beyond the gym or at home. Outerwear has seen the shift, too, with It girls sporting (pun intended) track jackets, funnel-neck styles, and windbreakers. If you want to look like a real fashion insider, all you have to do is throw on one of the styles below with your spring outfit.
Fitted Leather Jackets
Leather jackets will always be a cool-girl staple, but the exact silhouette that trends tend to vary—sometimes they're oversized, others they're more tailored. This season, slimmer styles are in demand. I particularly love the juxtaposition of a fitted leather jacket with a floaty spring dress, but I'm just as likely to wear one with denim or khaki pants.

Barn Jackets
You've probably spotted barn jackets everywhere over the last few seasons, but the trend is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, Rosalía recently wore a Barbour jacket with dark-wash jeans and a T-shirt while out in Paris. The beauty of this particular style lies in its versatility—you can just as easily team a barn jacket with a midi skirt and loafers (as seen above) as with jeans.
