I love pineapple, but cutting one up is such a frustrating task that I usually just opt to buy it in pre-chopped. The skin is so thick that I end up wasting a whole slab of pineapple when I try to cut it off, not to mention I usually prick myself on its thorns. But the canned stuff is too sweet and the ones that come in plastic containers are never as juicy (and pretty expensive). The pineapple struggle is real.
Luckily, a video has surfaced showing us that there's a brilliant, fast way of peeling a pineapple, courtesy of the wisdom of an anonymous fruit vendor. As you can see, he simply chops off one end, slices around the rim with a super slick knife, and then draws lines inside the pineapple. He does the same to the other side, chucks out the middle, and perfect chunks of pineapple fall out, the skin remaining completely carved out and yet still perfectly intact. You can even dry it out and repurpose it as decoration!
