Marriage is in a constant state of flux these days. The model we've known for generations—coupling up young(ish) and staying monogamous until death or divorce—is no longer the norm. More and more couples are tailoring their marriages or long-term commitments: They're experimenting with non-monogamy, open marriages, polyamory, even communal living or parenting.

Whatever marriage looks like in the future, one thing's for sure: It's certainly not going to look like our parents' or grandparents' marriages did.
