Hi, I'm Meaghan Townsend. Would you like to work your abs and detox doing something you already do thousands of times a day? Let me show you how. We're gonna learn a breath. In yoga, it's called Ujjayi breathing or ocean sounding breath. It's a detoxing breath, which actually helps you lose weight. So start by taking your left arm out. Imagine it's a mirror. How would you steam up a mirror? Great. Try it with me. Now make that same noise with your mouth closed. Again. Now try making that noise on the inhale and the exhale. So as you move through your yoga practice, you wanna use these breaths with the movement. So let's give it a go. On an inhale, lift your arms up. Exhale, try it again. So just for kicks, try it without your breath and notice what it feels like. You don't feel as connected. So it connects you with the present moment, detoxes you and it helps you lose weight. What a great idea! Another breath we use in yoga is fire breath, breath of fire. So take a step apart and bend your knees. Place your hands on your thighs. This breath heats you up. Think about your core, the fire. It's gonna work your core. By pulling your belly into your spine, you're pumping your stomach and working your abs. So, you wanna deep breath in. You wanna fill your belly with air. Make it big. And now, exhale with short breath. Pull your belly into your spine. So, in breath of fire, you put quickly, repetitively, and it starts to work your abs. Let's try it on a deep breath in, pulling the belly, exhale. So did you feel that work? Let's do it. Give it one more go. Deep breath in, feel the belly, each exhale pulling your abs in engaging those muscles. Nice job. When you take over 25,000 breaths a day, wouldn't be great to burn extra calories, detox, work your abs, do something that you already do. Now you know how. I'm Meaghan Townsend.
