Around the world, roughly 1500 children under the age of 15 are infected with HIV every day. More than 90 percent of the cases are the result of mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy or breast-feeding-cases that are preventable with proper care. But fewer than 10 percent of all pregnant women globally have access to these services. That's where the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation-named for the co-founder who unknowingly passed HIV to both her children during childbirth-comes in.
