After years of struggling with body image issues, 42-year-old Claudia Sierra of Houston, Texas, decided to do something drastic about it. She underwent nine plastic surgery procedures to look more like Melania Trump.
“Melania Trump is the most beautiful woman,” Sierra told Inside Edition (opens in new tab). “She’s perfect to me.”
The procedures included an eye lift, fat grafts in her temples and cheeks, rhinoplasty, breast implants, a tummy tuck, liposuction on her thighs and back and a Brazilian butt lift.
The interior designer told the the Daily Mail (opens in new tab) she began to struggle with self-esteem issues after years of being bullied by other kids at a young age. “Since I was a young girl, I was made fun of for the color of my skin, nose, hair and everything,” she said.
“I remember as a child, I would Scotch tape the tip of my nose to my forehead because I wanted a nose like all of the other girls," she added. "Despite my parents telling me I looked beautiful, I would get into the bathtub and try to lighten my skin by scrubbing it with a loofah, because all the girls I knew had lighter complexions.”
As she got older, Sierra said she remained self-conscious about her looks. She underwent a partial mastectomy after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis, which only added to her lack of confidence, the Star-Telegram (opens in new tab) reports.
“I was getting rejected by men and it was killing my soul,” she told New York Daily News (opens in new tab). “Nobody was picking me. So I said, ‘let me change everything because I don’t want any part that’s been touched by anyone.’”
In November, a man she went on a date with said he did not believe her age and that she “looked much older.” The horrifying date prompted Sierra to finally go under the knife.
So in June, Sierra visited Dr. Franklin Rose's office in Houston. He carried out the nine procedures over a span of 10 hours for a total cost of about $50,000 to $70,000, according to the New York Daily News.
Three months later, on September 23, she posted a photo on Facebook of what she used to look like. “This was the last picture taken of me..,” she wrote. “I'm not her anymore... I honestly don't know what people are expecting of me. All I hope for is that my story be heard before you judge me.”
After 100 days of hiding, Sierra said Thursday (using a Snapchat filter to disguise her face) that she will reveal her new look on a segment of Inside Edition.
