Miley Cyrus Teases New Track, Debuts a Totally Different Sound

At long last, Miley Cyrus has a follow-up track to 2013's Bangerz...and she's returning to her country roots like never before.

Over the weekend, the singer was in the studio 'till the wee hours of the morning, jamming with her musical partner in crime: The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne. The outlandish pair each posted video snippets from the late night session revealing the new material.

We don't know the name of the song yet, but between the lyrics and cool, synthesized harmony, it's a welcome departure for the country-cum-pop star.

"Why do people only show forgiveness, when they wanna sound cool in a song?" Cyrus croons in one of the 15-second clips. Take it all in, below:
