On Friday, audio leaked from a 2005 audio leaked from a 2005 Access Hollywood taping taping revealed Donald Trump bragging about hitting on a married woman, along with bragging that he could grab women "by the pussy" and get away with it because he was famous. The married woman Trump said he tried to sleep with was later revealed to be Nancy O'Dell, a former anchor on the show who now works for Entertainment Tonight.
O'Dell first released a statement Saturday, saying she was "saddened" by what Trump said and calling out objectification of women as a whole. "No female, no person, should be the subject of such crass comments, whether or not cameras are rolling," she wrote. And on Monday night's broadcast of Entertainment Tonight, O'Dell elaborated on being the unwilling center of a political scandal.
Here's the full text of her remarks:
Billy Bush, O'Dell's former colleague who was also caught on tape with Trump, has been suspended from the Today show pending an investigation into his remarks, USA Today reports. Bush has apologized for his role in the hot-mic moment, saying he was "embarrassed and ashamed," and that he "acted foolishly in playing along" with Trump.
