Sears and Kmart Are the Latest Stores to Drop Trump Products

The retailers dropped 31 items from the Trump Home collection.

Sears and Kmart just became the latest U.S. retailers to drop Trump-owned products. The stores, which are both owned by Sears Holdings Corp., just removed 31 products from the Trump Home collection from their websites, Reuters (opens in new tab) reports.

Neither store carried the line in their retail stores, but both had offerings from the collection on their websites. A Sears Holdings rep explained that the products were removed so the stores could focus on more profitable products. So basically, people weren't really buying much from the Trump Home collection anyway.

"As part of the company's initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items," spokesman Brian Hanover said in a statement. "Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week."

The Trump Home line includes furniture, lighting, bedding, and more, according to Reuters, some of which is produced by the same people who supply Trump hotels. So this is bad news if you were hoping to decorate your home like a gilded Vegas resort, I guess.
