Other than Fashion Month, we'd say that the year's most inspiring street style looks come from Festival Season. Unless you're just kicking back in the shaded VIP area all day, chances are you'll be dancing (and sweating) up a storm, which can lead to some seriously messy hair. Thankfully, our friends Thierry Brunet and Moulay Yacoubi at Pierre Michel Salon in Manhattan came up with five easy styles — inspired by our favorite runway looks — that you can create with just some bobby pins, a few hair ties, and a little bit of patience. We'll see you in the desert!

Bun with Wrap-Around Braids

Start by taking two small sections of hair from the back near the nape of your neck, and pin the rest of it up to get it out of the way. Twist these two sections into very thin braids, and secure them with elastics.

Bun with Wrap-Around Braids

Comb your hair back with your fingers — it shouldn't look too neat. Tie the hair into a ponytail at the back of the crown, leaving the two braids loose.

Thierry started by taking one piece of hair from the top left side and twisting it all the way around the head.

Twisted Crown

After the first twist is done, take all of the leftover hair from the other side of your head and twist it upwards, overlapping with the other twist. It should start to resemble a crown if you're doing it right!

French Braid with a Twist

This look is basically a French braid and a French twist mixed together. First, with one half of your hair, make a loose French braid, starting in the front of the head and moving to the side. Secure it with an elastic.

Criss-Crossed Fishtail Braids

Moulay suggests that you start by curling the hair into soft waves, either with a curling iron or using hot rollers. Next, you are going to create three separate fishtail braids — one in the center and one on each side. You can watch a tutorial on how to make a fishtail braid right here, or just create the same style using regular braids.

Criss-Crossed Fishtail Braids

Flip the top braid over, and criss-cross the two side braids underneath of it. Pin them into place before flipping the top braid back down. To create a more lived-in look, pull the braids apart a bit.

Bonus Look: Braid Crown

This look builds on the last one. Take two sections of the hair you left down (one on each side) and create a braid near the nape of your neck. Once you're finished, wrap them around your head to form a braid crown and pin them into place.
