Drake and Rihanna have been rumored to be dating for a while now, and though Drake is very, very vocal (opens in new tab) about his feelings for her, she's somewhat less forthcoming about her thoughts on him. At Sunday night's VMAs, Drake poured his heart out (opens in new tab) while presenting Rih with the Video Vanguard Award, and she responded by turning her head to the side so his kiss landed on her cheek. It was a lot.
Even if Rihanna and Drake are dating, there are a lot of reasons Rihanna might have executed this move. Maybe she didn't feel comfortable kissing him in front of millions of MTV viewers. Maybe she had just eaten some garlic backstage. Maybe she was annoyed at him for talking about his love for her in public for the thousandth time. But no matter what was going on in her mind, Drake was undeterred and later shared this cute Instagram after the show was over:

"You have affected so many of our lives in the best way possible," he wrote. "Tonight we celebrate you!" According to E! News (opens in new tab), this celebration took place at Up & Down in NYC, but only after Aubrih had "slipped away" for a while. E!'s source claims Drake and Rihanna were holding hands as they walked in, though the Daily Mail (opens in new tab) has photos that clearly show Rihanna holding hands with a police officer (Drake was probably humming "Too Good" to himself during this portion of the evening). The Daily Mail also reports that Aubrih left the club together, though if they showed any kind of affection toward each other, it was not captured on camera. The true nature of their relationship remains a mystery to be solved another day.
