Good friends Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone met up at the Toronto International Film Festival the other day, where the two Best Actress Oscar winners were caught on camera greeting each other in Variety's studio. J.Law went in for a hug, Stone wasn't quite ready, and the result is that awkward but still lovely hello we've all had with friends from time to time:

Stone herself has been in J.Law's place before, only to a greater degree and on national television. Her Golden Globe hug fail with La La Land director Damien Chazelle (who had been trying to hug his girlfriend) went viral:
"Damien certainly wants to hug NOT ME," she joked to Jimmy Kimmel later. "I'm not a highly choreographed person."
