Here’s why these posts make such a big statement: After her controversial exit from America’s Got Talent, a shocking report revealed that Union allegedly received feedback about her hairstyles as a judge—that they were “too black” for the show’s audience. She spoke up shortly afterward on Instagram.
“Unapologetically me. Be comfortable and confident with your whole ass self. It might give others the fluuuxxx but never stop being you,” she wrote in the December 2019 post. “You can shine on your own terms. And if you got something to say 🤷🏾♀️ I don’t take notes rooted in anti-blackness. I love me as I am.”
