On the second day of Gable Tostee's trial, prosecutors presented selfies from his phone from that night as evidence Warriena Wright became increasingly uncomfortable at his apartment in the hours before her death. Tostee is accused of murdering Wright, a Tinder date he met on August 7, who was found dead at the base of his apartment the next morning. She was allegedly so scared of Tostee she fell trying to climb down his fourteenth-floor balcony to escape him (opens in new tab).
Jurors first heard recordings pulled from Tostee's phone from that night in which Wright could be heard seemingly restrained and choking. "You're lucky I haven't chucked you off my balcony you God damn psycho bitch," Tostee reportedly can be heard saying. "You're not going to collect any belongings, you're just going to walk out. If you try to pull anything I'll knock you out. I'll knock you the fuck out—do you understand?" According to The Huffington Post Australia (opens in new tab), Tostee called his father after Wright fell, asking him "Why does this shit keep happening to me?"
They also were shown reenactments of how her body fell from the balcony, ricocheting off of lower balconies just seconds after neighbors heard her scream "No, no, no, please let me go home."
Though there has been no official confirmation of what order the photos below were taken in, The Daily Mail (opens in new tab) reports the photos of Wright smiling for the camera came first, followed by the increasingly stoic and uncomfortable ones.
Tostee's trial is expected to continue through the end of the week.
