Dan Levy Is Kilted and Killing It at the 2020 Emmys

The Schitt's Creek star serves serious looks.

It's a real sign of the times that as the virtual curtains opened on this year's Emmy Awards, I found myself lamenting the veritable cornucopia of red-carpet fit pics the event typically yields. I'm desperate, man. No two ways about it. Any reprieve from this nightmare of a year is a welcome one and right now, I'm low-key missing the thrill of watching my favorite small-screen stars come through in some predictably wild (and occasionally very good) outfits.

Well, folks—have no fear, Dan Levy is here! The multitalented actor and Schitt Creek's star already scooped three awards tonight—one each for acting, writing, and directing—but for my money, the dude might as well have won the whole damn show. Because Dan Levy did not use the unorthodox setting of this year's Emmy's as an excuse to slub it in sweatpants the whole night. No, sir.

In fact, Levy didn't wear pants at all. Instead, the actor came through in a kilted get-up courtesy of the shrunken suiting savants at Thom Browne, serving, as the kids say, a serious LOOK. Captured on the official Schitt's Creek Instagram moments before the Emmy's officially kicked off, Levy smoldered in the swerv-y tailoring equivalent of a mullet: business up top, party down below.

And he pulls it off, no question about it. (It helps that Browne, a favorite of well-dressed high-profile dudes like LeBron James, knows how to cut a damn-near perfect suit. For those keeping track at home, OBJ rocked a similar TB look—kilt and all—to the Met Gala last year.)

Forget shorts and hoodie season, guy. Dan Levy is on another level. And I ain't mad at it.
