Her selfie is pure fire.

I know you’re coming in hot off of the craziness that was Oscars night (I mean, Emilia Clarke’s new short bob?! Charlize Theron’s dark-brown pixie cut?!), but I’d like to redirect your attention to the center of the metaphorical room, where Kim Kardashian has bright-red hair now, like the Little Mermaid that 2019 deserves.

Kim posted a photo of her new hair over the weekend to her Insta Stories, giving us no other details outside of the lewk on who did the hair, why, for what, etc. In the photo, Kim is sucking on a red lollipop (naturally), while wearing a red-orange shirt, red eyeshadow, and, of course, red hair.

Though there’s no word on whether or not Kim’s new hair is actually a wig, I’m going to go ahead and guess, uh, yes. Considering she’d have to bleach her dark strands just to dye them red—a process that’s both time-consuming and damaging (since lightening your hair always hurts your hair a little bit)—it’s more likely that she was just playin’ around with a wig.

I mean, just a few weeks ago, Kim made news for having blunt bangs in a few Instagram photos, and before that, she had butt-length blonde waves. So, the chances that she completely and permanently dyed her hair red are…slim. Still, I can’t say that I’m not feeling the look, especially because it reminds me of everyone’s favorite childhood mermaid, Ariel.
