Life as a Kim Kardashian Lookalike Isn't Easy
"I personally do not see that much resemblance."

Life is good if you're Kim Kardashian, right? There's fame, money, private jets and fancy presents from Kanye. If you only look like Kim Kardashian, however, life is...well, weird. At least that's what I gathered from talking to Kamilla Osman, a 20-year-old Azerbaijani designer and fashion blogger based in Toronto, Canada, who bears a striking resemblance to Kim Kardashian.
Which one is the real Kim? (Kim is on the right.)
More than that, she's also developed a robust social media following (in just 11 weeks on Instagram she's racked up over 100,000 followers on Instagram) with Kim-style adorers and haters to boot.
Here, Osman shares what day-to-day life is like, what she really thinks of one of the most talked about families on television today, and how she keeps her hater shades on through it all.
When were you first mistaken for Kim Kardashian and when did you realize you look like her?
I personally do not see that much resemblance with Kim Kardashian in myself. I believe it is the long dark hair, almond eyes and olive skin tone, skinny face which makes us alike. But I first started getting comments on it when I was 15 years old.
How do people react to you when they see you? Do they immediately notice the resemblance?
To be honest with you, I get the comments on how I look like her everyday if not every other hour of the day. People on the streets, in stores, malls. I remember even in Las Vegas one girl chased after me from Barney's and wanted to tell me how I look like Kim but a skinny version, and wanted to take a selfie. And some would comment on that and then stare at me without blinking with a shocked gaze.
And how does that feel?
At first I found it very weird and I felt kind of embarrassed, but I have learned to deal with it, I have learned to embrace it. I can't help it. So, I always stay true to myself, I am my own person and never to get lost in all that. Kim is such a gorgeous woman, so I am honored to be told that we look alike. It is such a big compliment.
Are you single? If so, how has resembling Kim affected your love life?
I am single. At the moment I am just trying to focus on myself and there are a lot of big changes happening in my life, so my love-life is on pause for awhile. However, I am a hopeless romantic and I hope to find that special someone one day, who I can grow old with.
Has it affected your career at all?
I hope will be able to build on this huge opportunity and become what I have always dreamed to be since I was a little, which is to be an actress, singer, designer and invest my time in philanthropy.
Kim is really famous for beauty techniques and fashion sense. Do you follow her regime at all?
A lot of girls and celebrities contour, waist train, diet or exercise. So I wouldn't say I "follow Kim Kardashian," but I do certainly do all those things to keep myself fresh at all times. I do have a healthy diet, have a personal trainer, waist train and contour.
What was it like becoming an Instagram star virtually overnight?
I could have never imagined such an overwhelming reaction to my appearance on the media and internet. I am very appreciative of all the love and the hate which I have received and continue to receive. I try to communicate with my followers as much as I can, and respond to certain questions. Some comments are harsh, and my personal approach to it is just to find something positive about the person who comments rude things and compliment them back on their picture, to make their day better and put a smile on their faces. Kindness and positivity is my approach to every situation. Hate and negativity is very motivating to me.
What do you think of the Kardashians themselves?
I certainly do love all the Kardashian/Jenner sisters.. Each one of them is different and beautiful in their own way. But I must say, I am a big fan of Kris Jenner, she is a true definition of #BossMom.
