Kourtney Kardashian Breaks Her Silence Following Kim's Paris Robbery

Kim's older sister shared a moving message on Twitter.

Kim Kardashian's family members have kept quiet on social media since she was robbed in Paris, but her older sister Kourtney is one of the first to break their silence.

Kourtney, who was in the French capital with her sister Kendall and mother Kris when the incident took place, has shared a passage from what is reported to be her daily devotional book on Twitter.

The powerful message references the meaning of "true joy" and includes a quote from the Book of Habakkuk, the eighth book of prophets from the Hebrew Bible.

"Remember that joy is not dependent on your circumstances," the message read. "Some of the world's most miserable people are those whose circumstances seem the most enviable. People who reach the top of the ladder career-wise are often surprised to find emptiness awaiting them. True Joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons… anywhere."

Kourtney's tweet follows a recent Instagram post from Caitlyn Jenner, who was the first family member to publicly show support for Kim.

"Love my girl!" Caitlyn captioned the post. "After hearing the full story, I'm so thankful she's okay. It's a reminder for us all to be careful in the uncertainty of this world"

Celebrities have also been quick to rally around Kim since the news of the robbery broke. In an interview with New York radio show The Breakfast Club, Lena Dunham slammed people who have been making jokes about the reality TV star.

According to E! News, the Girls star said, "What I really hate about this Kim thing is that people are feeling so much license to make jokes, and it's like, that's a human being. She may have put her life on display in this specific way, and you may not agree with everything she does, but that is a woman and a mother and a daughter who just went through something so heinous. So my heart is with Kim."

Karl Lagerfeld, on the other hand, made a comment about how Kim shouldn't flaunt her wealth—and it sounded a whole lot like victim-blaming.

Kim, who safely returned to New York on Monday, has made no comment following the incident.
