Ryan Reynolds Finally Explains Why He Looks Miserable in This Photo with Taylor Swift

The actor looked decidedly downbeat in an image that quickly swept the internet.

Ryan Reynolds has revealed why he seemed so unhappy in that now infamous Instagram picture taken during Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party.

The image—which quickly went viral—showed a seriously downtrodden Reynolds amongst a sea of lovestruck faces, including his wife Blake Lively, and Swift and Tom Hiddleston.

The photo became meme fodder across Twitter with fans suggesting that Reynolds really didn't want to be sitting beside the canoodling couple. However, the actor cleared up his "sad face" in an interview over the weekend.

"That's a problem I've had all my life," he told Entertainment Weekly. "If I'm not aware a photo is being taken, my natural resting face is one of a man dying. I had no idea somebody was taking a photo. Therefore I was resting comfortably in my persona of a man whose soul is visibly exiting this earth."
