I'm a Beauty Editor—These Are the Best Hair and Body Care Deals I'm Scoring On Black Friday
The best beauty sale of the year.
These days, you can count on a major beauty sale to be happening at least once a month, but if there's any time of year during which I'm willing to do some of my best girl math and simply ignore my rising credit card bill, it's Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As a person who tests loads of beauty products, I have a pretty extensive beauty routine, so I see this as the one time of year that I can stock up on all of my favorites (hair masks, styling tools, etc.) without having to make a huge dent in my budget by paying full price.
That said, narrowing down everything you want to purchase from the never-ending stream of retailers marking down prices can be a little overwhelming, which is why Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping takes a bit of preparation. I've already made a notes app list of all the beauty goodies I plan of snagging for myself and family members this season, but in the event that you're in need of some shopping inspiration, read ahead to check out all the deals that should be on your Black Friday wishlist.
Hair Helpers
I take my haircare routine very seriously (my hair is curly and color-treated, after all), and you should too. If you’re aiming to give your routine a refresh this sale season, these are the formulas I’d recommend.
Hair masks are always a must, especially if dryness and damage from color or chemicals is what you’re hoping to address. Whenever I need a protein boost, this creamy mask whips my hair right into shape—luckily for you (and me, obviously), it’ll be available for almost half the original price.
I’m always so impressed by the amount of slip this conditioner has—it’s so soft that my detangling brush practically glides through my hair after I apply it. Try it out for yourself to see what I mean, as it’s currently available for 40 percent off on Ouidad’s official website.
Body Party
I love winter, but the loss of humidity around this time of year (mixed with frigid temperatures) means that my skin suffers a ton. Because of this, I’m loading up on thick body moisturizers and oils that’ll not only keep my skin hydrated, but they’ll give me a nice glow, too.
I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face: I loveeee shower oils, and the options at Natura have long been included in my lineup of favorites. They come in a variety of amazing scents, but more importantly, they’re so moisturizing that I can sometimes get away with skipping throwing on a body lotion post-shower.
Thick body butters are my lifeline around this time of year, and you can grab Mutha’s award-winning formula for 20 percent off on the brand’s official website. It moisturizes using a cocktail of vitamins A and E, shea butter, and cocoa butter, but it can also help improve the appearance of discoloration and stretch marks.
Tried-and-True Tools
This is arguably the best time of year to stock up on all of the skin and hair tools you’ve been eyeing that are sitting at much higher price points. Over the next week, you can find some of the below tools for just a fraction of their original prices.
I can’t always splurge on a spa-level LED light therapy treatment, so the next best thing is to do it on my own at home. This device from Skin Gym includes red and blue LED light in order to minimize blemishes and breakouts and reduce the fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Just use it for ten minutes a day or pop it on while watching an episode of Housewives.
This tool has several attachments to choose from, so whether you want to blow out your curls and give them a sleek and straight look or diffuse your wash and go, you have options. It also features three heat settings that allow you to get the look you want with no heat damage.
I’m convinced that switching out the dinky showerhead in my bathroom with this one has been a game changer for my hair. It’s meant to filter out heavy metals and contaminants in water that can often be way too harsh and drying on the hair and skin, and I’ve noticed that my curls have felt much softer and healthier in the three months I’ve been using it than they ever were before.
I’ll sing the praises of this flat iron forever. It features ceramic plates (which are much less damaging on the hair than titanium) and it heats up in less than a minute for quick and easy styling. The tool also has one temperature setting—365 degrees—to ensure that the hair doesn’t become damaged due to extreme heat.
Silky Smooth
These are the miscellaneous hair accessories that are in my cart as I type this.
I try to do everything I can to avoid having to deal with split ends and breakage, and that includes sleeping on a silk pillowcase (it reduces friction, meaning my hair won’t get caught on the fabric as easily). It also explains why I own no less than ten Slip pillowcases, which is exactly how many you should buy since they’ll be on mega-sale this week.
