- Beyoncé and her family flew to the island of Croatia to celebrate her 39th birthday earlier this month, reported E! News.
- The singer has yet to share any photos from her birthday getaway but did write a message to family, friends, and fans on her website last week.
Birthdays when you're Beyoncé are meant to be major celebrations, and the pop star's 39th birthday earlier this month was no exception.
According to E! News (opens in new tab), the "Mood 4 Eva" singer and her family flew to the island of Croatia to celebrate her birthday on September 4. Her husband, Jay-Z, and their three children, daughter Blue Ivy, 8, and twins Rumi and Sir Carter, 3, all tagged along.
"The Carters celebrated Beyoncé's birthday with a sailing trip on the Adriatic Sea along the coast of Croatia. They spent most of their time on the superyacht, Lana, anchored in the Dubrovnik Riviera," a source told E! News. They later revealed that the family then "took a smaller boat to the heart-shaped island of Galesnjak for a birthday meal."

Beyoncé has yet to share any photos from her birthday celebration this year, which isn't a surprise considering how private the superstar tends to be. According to the source, however, she and her family relished their private getaway.
"They made a few trips to shore where they took photos of the coast and each other," continued the source. "They all had a great time."
The singer did write a message via her website to thank friends and fans for their birthday well wishes.
"I want to thank everyone for the birthday love and beautiful birthday wishes!" wrote the singer alongside a throwback baby photo of herself. She also urged fans to not forget, "IT'S VIRGO SEASON," which she plastered above the vintage photo as a fun reminder.
