Beyonce Will Perform and Receive MTV's Michael Jackson Award at the VMAs

Bow down.

While we're not totally sure what's going on in Beyoncé's personal life, we do know that she's continuing to kill it professionally. MTV just announced that Beyoncé will perform and receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's Video Music Awards.

"Over the course of MTV history, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award has been presented to exemplary musicians who have made an incredible and long-lasting impact on pop culture," the announcement said. "When it came time to choose the 2014 VMA recipient, one particular name stood out above the rest — global entertainer, singer-songwriter and philanthropist, Beyoncé."

It's only fitting for Bey to join the ranks of past recipients, which include Britney Spears, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Beastie Boys.

August 24 is going to be one big night for Beyoncé — she's up for eight other awards, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Choreography. You ready, Bey?
