Oscar Predictions Are Already Swirling Around Jennifer Lawrence's Intense New Role

In David O. Russell's Joy, J.Law invents the Miracle Mop/gives us chills.

Here is a reminder that this fall there is not justone excellent new Jennifer Lawrence film (opens in new tab) coming our way, but two: The first teaser for David O. Russell's Joy has been released, and it's a doozy. Lawrence plays Joy Mangano in the biographical comedy about the Miracle Mop inventor. And the teaser shows how wild Joy's life has been, with flashes of her wedding, meetings with executives (hey, Bradley Cooper!), a visit to jail, and lots of drama. J.Law is as electrifying as you'd expect in the role alongside the fine company of Robert De Niro and Cooper:

The film comes out this Christmas.
