*This* Is How Kim Kardashian Does Natural Makeup

For her.

In her weirdly touching letter to Bionic Future Kim Kardashian (opens in new tab), 2015 Kim Kardashian says "I trust you'll still be the queen of contouring." This seems plausible but plausible in a different way now that—SHARP INHALE—we know Kimmy sometimes wears natural makeup.

While in London to attend a yacht party and descend on a muddy field via helicopter (opens in new tab), KK went out with slightly less/different slap on her face than usual. Compare:

This is the work of makeup artist Karin Darnell, who seems to have successfully persuaded the Sultana of Shadow to, for once, use a lighter hand. What's changed: the dewier-than-ever skin finish, the less-defined hollows of the cheeks, and the plummy-brown "drop shadow," which is what Kim's first-ever beauty sensei (opens in new tab) calls it. What's stayed: the nude gloss, the tight-lining, and the separated, ultra-long bottom lashes.

You can't win 'em all, eh, Karin? But you sure can try to get her to copy Kendall, the most well made-up Kardashian except for maybe Caitlyn (opens in new tab), and that is enough.
