From a sexy anime coloring book to a shot of him naked and staring into the sunset, Justin Bieber has posted a lot of peculiar things to the internet over the years. But while the Biebs definitely knows how to mix things up online, one of his recent Instagram posts has caused many to believe that the superstar literally thinks he's God—and now, Justin is firing back.

Late Wednesday night, Justin posted a picture of himself cuddled up in bed with his adorable pup, Esther. The Biebs captioned the post, "And on the 7th day..."—referencing a passage in The Bible wherein God rests for a day after creating the universe. Justin had intended the caption to be a harmless, clever way of saying he was going to bed, but instead, it left many fans questioning if the star had just directly compared himself to God.
The Biebs was quick to update the caption and clarify that, no, of course he didn't think such a thing. And just to make sure everyone saw what he had to say, he then took a screenshot of the updated caption and made a separate post on Instagram.

Still not satisfied that he'd gotten his point across, Justin then posted another post to Instagram to defend himself, this time next to a screen cap of multiple articles claiming he had called himself God.

"Would love to talk about this because it's another moment to point to God," Justin wrote. "When I said on the 7th day it was a reference to say that on the 7th day he rested giving us a template and example letting us know how important rest is. People love to twist what was meant for good and maybe it was my fault by not explaining my thought correctly. You can think the worst about me but never ever want people to think I compare myself to The MOST HIGH."
The Biebs has spoken.
